Studio Art is a full year course. We will be exploring different media and learning the many design elements. We will be learning to work like an artist, explore like an artist and make decisions like an artist. We will be having discussions about Color Theory, Art History through current and famous artists and how their work relates to what you make in this class. You will learn how to think like an artist and behave like an artist by the end of the year, by planning your own pieces of artwork based on your choices and our requirements in the rubric. This class is meant to be a fun exploration into all the classes you can take once you have finished this class!

Responsibilities: Rules, Expectations, Consequences
Students will be respectful of the classroom, the materials, the teachers and their classmates. Respect class and be on time. Three tardies is a detention. Keep all your work. DO NOT throw away assignments. At the end of the quarter there is a checkpoint for a grade to make sure you have everything in a folder. Students will work the entire period, there is always something you can improve! Cell phones, drinks, and food are not allowed. Come prepared with a pencil, your agenda and take out your sketchbook everyday. Laptops/iPads are used, but this is a privilege, not a right! You will be given an alternate assignment if you misuse them.
Grading: Policy and Due Dates
Grades are always available on parent portal. Please check them regularly and feel free to ask me about them. Rubrics will also be given out with projects, so that students can see how they are graded.
